"Professionalising the Recruitment Industry"
The REC is at the forefront of a sustained campaign to work alongside its members to professionalise the recruitment industry. The benefits of this are apparent to all;
- It will attract more highly skilled individuals to a career in recruitment
- It will raise standards and best practice across the board
- It is a way of helping those already in the sector to further develop their careers
- It raises the profile of the industry presented to Westminster and Brussels
- Equal opportunities and diversity become endemic to recruitment
The REC is in regular dialogue with policymakers. Our aim is to influence the formation of regulations and legislation that will both protect the rights and needs of the UK workforce, whilst ensuring that recruitment is recognised as a valid, essential industry.
The REC is committed to raising standards in recruitment and our Code of Professional Practice is binding on all corporate members. REC qualifications are key to promoting recruitment as a profession; all Individual Members must work to our Code of Ethics.
To facilitate this the REC has worked with employers and other stakeholders to develop a portfolio of four qualifications aimed specifically at recruiters. In addition the REC is one of the leading providers of training in recruitment, selection and recruitment sales - offering a wide range of programmes across the whole of the UK.
