Our client is a growing company that need to fulfill a key position within the manufacturing department of a research and development company, developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing operation and setting up and maintaining production lines for complex precision electronic/mechanical assemblies.
Specific Responsibilities;
Provide technical leadership in the set up of low to medium volume production lines
Ensure production process operate correctly at all times
Generate and maintain works instructions
Production of detailed cost benefit proposals for tooling and capital equipment
To be fully aware of production deadlines, assisting with sourcing and ensuring that all components needed are in stock
Production operator training
Providing kits of parts for outside manufacture as required
Compliance with Health and Safety requirements
Prototypes build, commissioning and refining the product
Building and maintenance of manufacturing and test equipment
Maintaining a database for all test equipment and tools
Supporting all company manufacturing requirements
Providing feedback to improve design for manufacture

Experience / Skills required;
Qualified to HND or equivalent in a relevant subject
Proven production engineering experience of low to medium volume manufacture of complex electronic products with embedded software, and precision mechanical parts
Lean manufacturing
Good understanding of mechanical and electronic principals
Good understanding of safe handling of electronic products and components
Methodical approach to problem solving
PC and Office literate
Project ****** ****** and WEEE directives
Machine shop familiarity
Organised, self-motivated individual with initiative
Pride in the quality of your own work
Equally at home working as part of a team or on their own
Appreciation of a wide variety of engineering and scientific fields
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Must demonstrate a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles

Based in Lymington, the salary is between £30k and £35k.
